Investment Professionals
Mr. Schickel is a Co-Founder of EVE and is currently serving as CEO of Omni Logistics, LLC. Prior to co-founding EVE, Mr. Schickel served as CFO/COO/CRO of ATC Logistics, Inc., a privately-held conglomerate with numerous businesses serving the automotive industry supply chain. While in this capacity, Mr. Schickel executed a bottom-up operational restructuring that resulted in a 325% increase in operating cash flow. He was a Founder, CFO and board member of AMLI, ATC’s international port processing division, where he completed numerous debt financings, several acquisitions and divestitures and a private equity placement to support the growth of the business. From 1994 to 1999, Mr. Schickel worked in the investment banking department of Interstate/Johnson Lane (“IJL”), a publicly-traded broker dealer (currently dba Wells Fargo). During his tenure with IJL, Mr. Schickel represented public and private companies in a wide variety of merger and acquisition and financing transactions. Mr. Schickel has advised clients on more than 110 transactions in the T&L industry, with total value in excess of $5 billion, and has raised over $4 billion in IPO, follow-on and private financings. Mr. Schickel’s current and previous board experience includes AIT Worldwide, AMLI/AMPORTS, BAM Worldwide, Francis Drilling Fluids, Jack Cooper Logistics, MyUS.com, Omni Logistics, Point Dedicated Solutions, PS Logistics and United Vision Logistics. Mr. Schickel is also a National Association of Corporate Directors Fellow and a member of the Audit Committee Institute. Mr. Schickel holds a Bachelor of Science and Masters in Accounting from the University of Florida.
Mr. Hodge joined EVE in 2011. Prior to joining EVE, Mr. Hodge was the Founder and Managing Partner of Hilliard Street Capital, an investment firm with $220 million of assets under management. While in this capacity, he raised capital for the fund, served as the Chief Investment Officer and managed all aspects of the business. In 2007 and 2008, Mr. Hodge served as the CEO and CFO of Skybus Airlines. From 2002 to 2007, Mr. Hodge was the Co-Head of Tiger Management, a multi-billion-dollar family office managing the assets of Julian H. Robertson, Jr. During his tenure, he was the Co-Chief Investment Officer and in charge of all aspects of the business, including the management of 14 employees and $2 billion of assets. From 1997 to 2000, Mr. Hodge was a Managing Director and investment professional for Tiger Management, one of the largest hedge funds in the world during that time, with $22 billion of assets under management. From 1994 to 1997, Mr. Hodge was a foreign currency trader at Bankers Trust. Mr. Hodge is the Chairman of Point Dedicated Solutions. His current and previous board experience also includes AFN, BAM Worldwide, MyUS.com, POGO and Skybus Airlines. Mr. Hodge holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, magna cum laude, from Princeton University and a Masters of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.
Mr. Mamo is a Co-Founder of EVE. Prior to co-founding EVE, Mr. Mamo was a Partner of Seaboard & Co. (acquired by ORIX, USA in 1999), a $1+ billion hedge fund focused on second lien and mezzanine debt investments, where he was responsible for the firm’s credit decisions. From 1984 to 1994, Mr. Mamo was a Partner at Peers & Co., a boutique Wall Street firm he co-founded to focus on cross border M&A. Peers completed 130+ transactions while representing Japanese buyers. Prior to forming Peers, Mr. Mamo was a member of the investment banking department of Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc. (currently dba Morgan Stanley). Mr. Mamo has advised clients on over $15 billion of transactions, more than 110 of which have been in the T&L industry. Mr. Mamo holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, magna cum laude, from Washington & Lee University.
Mr. Schickel joined EVE in 2002. Prior to joining EVE, Mr. Schickel co-founded MuncipalTrade.com, an online municipal bond trading platform, where he helped raise funds, including a friends and family round as well as venture capital funding from Benchmark Capital and Cyberstarts. From 1998 to 1999, Mr. Schickel was an analyst and associate with First Liberty investment group. While in this capacity, Mr. Schickel sourced and funded a variety of municipal backed projects in the state of Georgia. Mr. Schickel started his career in 1997 overseas as a financial analyst for Bern Banking Group Private in Prague, Czech Republic analyzing private funding opportunities of public municipalities. Mr. Schickel is on the Communication Board of the Transportation Intermediary Association and has written numerous articles for the trade magazine, The Logistics Journal. Mr. Schickel holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Florida and a Masters of Business Administration from Georgia State University.
Mr. Carlton joined EVE in 2014. Prior to joining EVE, Mr. Carlton served as a Finance and Accounting Coordinator with Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton (“CGSH”), a leading international law firm based in New York. During his tenure with CGSH, Mr. Carlton acted as liaison between firm partners and clients by monitoring internal financials. Prior to his full-time experience, Mr. Carlton interned at Bank of America, Merrill Lynch’s Wealth Management group. Mr. Carlton was a member of the Maryland Men’s NCAA Division 1 lacrosse team. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland – College Park.
Operating Partners
Mr. Carlton joined EVE in 2012 and is currently serving as Chief Strategy Officer of Omni Logistics, LLC. He is responsible for overseeing Omni’s capital allocation strategy, including all M&A activity. Mr. Carlton has executed numerous transactions including majority buyouts, minority investments and equity recapitalizations totaling over $2.0 billion in transaction value. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland – College Park.
Mr. Homan joined EVE in 2012 and is currently serving as Vice President, Corporate Development for Omni Logistics. Prior to joinig EVE, he co-founded two transportation companies, Longview Waste Systems and Tectrans, and served as CFO and VP Business Development for both entities. These two transportation companies grew from concept businesses to industry leaders and were acquired by internationally-based strategic buyers. Mr. Homan has also completed a variety of Project CFO and Project Manager engagements focusing on business integrations and reorganizations, in addition to advising on numerous M&A transactions in the transportation and logistics sector. Mr. Homan began his business career as a Certified Public Accountant with Price Waterhouse and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of South Dakota.
Mr. Brooke joined EVE in 2016 and is currently serving as VP, Strategy and Acquisitions of Omni Logistics, LLC. Mr. Brooke is responsible for managing the diligence process, commercial and business analysis, and putting together investor and lender materials during M&A processes. At Omni, he supports the M&A function while helping to manage major strategic initiatives internally at the Company. Mr. Brooke has worked on numerous transactions including majority buyouts, minority investments and equity recapitalizations totaling over $1.5 billion in transaction value. Mr. Brooke holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the McIntire School at the University of Virginia.
